Witness Testimony

Adam Konrad, a Saskatoon fishing guide and lodge co-owner, testified that approximately 10 days after receiving a first Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination in April 2021, he experienced a severe cardiac episode. He described a rapid heart rate of approximately 240 beats per minute, loss of rhythm, emergency transport, and cardioversion after eight and a half hours in arrhythmia. He reported subsequent monthly nighttime episodes lasting seven months, treatment with metoprolol and diltiazem, and eventual cardiac ablation surgery in February 2022, after which his symptoms largely resolved. He stated that medical providers characterized the event as coincidental and unrelated to vaccination.
Konrad further testified that in October 2021, his father, who had longstanding alcohol dependency and opposed vaccination, chose to receive COVID-19 vaccination following implementation of alcohol purchase restrictions requiring proof of vaccination. He stated that his father sounded cognitively impaired during a phone call on October 26 and was later found deceased in his condominium on November 6, with estimated time of death approximately October 27 or 28. He reported that no autopsy was performed due to decomposition and that the death was recorded as natural causes.
He stated that he submitted adverse event reports for both himself and his father and received a response suggesting coincidence and recommending alternative vaccination. Konrad expressed frustration that no formal investigation connected the events to vaccination and questioned public health accountability, stating that in his view, policies should be reconsidered when adverse outcomes occur without adequate explanation.
